A dog registry for those who believe in breeding to "Better The Breed".

WHAT IS A REGISTRY?

Answer: A place that issues papers with infinite numbers.

A registry is simply an organization/company/individual that has spent the time, effort

and money to form a company with the intention of offering services to the public.  In

the case of animal registries their purpose is to be able to  issue pieces of papers with a

set of numbers on them that they use to log into their databases for future use.  As long

as there is an unending amount of numbers then an infinite amount of papers can be

issued.

IS ONE REGISTRY BETTER THAN ANOTHER?

Answer: NO.

The only difference in registries may be the services that they offer or their policies.

Some may offer additional services such as pedigree databases, micro-chip/tattoo

databases, verification or certification services and a whole list of other services but all

registries initial purpose is to supply a set of papers on an individual animal.

IT is the responsibility of the individual to decide which registry serves their needs.

DOES A REGISTRY DETERMINE Animal QUALITY?

Answer: NO.

An animal's quality can not be determined by the registry which issued the papers on it.

Quality is determined by the genes that the animal acquired from the dam and sire.  2

champion animals can produce desirable and non desirable offspring.

DOES A REGISTRY DETERMINE THE HEALTH OF AN

ANIMAL?

Answer: NO

An animal's health depends on it's genetic gene pool and it's environmental circumstances.

There are healthy purebred animals and non healthy purebred animals just as there are

healthy cross-bred animals and unhealthy cross-bred animals.

DOES A REGISTRY DETERMINE BREEDER

RESPONSIBILITY?

ANSWER: NO.

A breeder determines for themselves through their own conscientious as to what type

of breeder they wish to be.  There will be good breeders and bad breeders in EVERY

registry.  There is no way that a registry can determine the responsiblity of all breeders

in their mist.

The most that a registry can do is to NOT allow registration privileges to those they feel

are not in the best interest of the registry to do so.  If an individual chooses to not live

by the rules then they may be forced to live with the consequences.

We hope this helps you understand what a registry is.

We hope this page will help educate the uneducated and help them understand

what a registry really is.

Please BUY the dog and not the set of papers that accompany it.  This small bit

of advice will serve you well whether you are buying one for a companion animal

or for breeding purposes.
