American Canine Registry: Mission Statement, Goals & Policies:

American Canine Registry is a purebred registry dedicated to the documentation of purebred dogs
The ACR family is made up of a variety of registries which serve different purposes and for a variety
of breed clubs.  Each of those clubs/organizations/registries has their own established mission, goals
and policies.  The ones listed below are for the American Canine Registry.

ACR's goals are to document and make available pedigrees to the dedicated breeder.  ACR will not
accept into it's ranks any dog that can not be proven to be of a minimum of 3 generation purebred.
ACR will document all titles, awards and achievements that are submitted and verified so that a
complete listing can be put on future pedigrees received from us.
APR is the registry for unverified parentage, mixed breed or those with less than a 3 generation pedigree.

American Canine Registry does not get involved in political matters.   We, however, DO support and will
continue to support  any and all registries, associations, groups and individuals  that  are fighting to keep our
"RIGHT" to own animals.

American Canine Registry does not accept for dual registry those that are not accompanied by a
minimum 3 generation official pedigree or backed by documentation to prove a 3 generation pedigree
can be generated by ACR for the animal.  ACR reserves the right to refuse inclusion to any that we
feel are not in the best interest of the betterment of the breed.
APR is the registry for unverified parentage, mixed breed or those with less than a 3 generation pedigree.

American Canine Registry strongly advises all truly interested in the breeding, showing, hunting
and love of their chosen breed (s) to research it's pedigree, linage and correctness of  both so that
you may better understand the breed, it's pros and cons and what is needed of you to BETTER THE
BREED instead of doing irreparable harm to future generations.

American Canine Registry does not use outside breed standards.  ACR has it's own set of standards
based on what is considered to be in the best interest for future generations of each individual breed.
ACR has a committee appointed of 5 individuals for each individual breed who are expected to keep
updated on the breed they are on committee for to make suggestions for any future changes to the
breed standard.  It should be noted though that no color/pattern will ever be disqualified that already
exist in a ACR breed standard.  Breed Standard revisions are accepted for review and acceptance on
a 3 year basis.  All final decisions for acceptance for change are ACR's and only those changes that
are in the best interest of the breed will be accepted.

American Canine Registry is so strongly dedicated to the betterment of the breed and to encouraging
breeders to research their animals pedigree that ACR's 3 generation pedigree is on each and every
Certificate of Registration that we issue.

American Canine Registry is available during business hours by e-mail, phone, fax and U.S. mail.
ACR does not now nor has it ever condoned the housing of animals in unsanitary conditions or
inhumane treatment of animals.  While ACR does not, at the present time, do kennel inspections we
do reserve the right to revoke any and all papers issued to animals that have found to be housed or
treated inhumanely and to suspend the individual responsible from our registry for a period of time
justifiable to the crime.

ACR reserves the right to revoke any registration papers found to be submitted fraudulently and those
of any animal found to be of incorrect  parentage and the right to suspend any individual responsible for
 such acts.

ACR will document all Microchip numbers, tattoos, DNA samples and certificates, weight, size and
height verifications in their files and make them available to those interested in the information.
ACR requires ALL animals shown in ACR sponsored shows to be measured, weighed, DNA'd and
micro chipped PRIOR to being shown.  ACR has a station set up at every show sight so that these
can be done and documented.  ACR appointed personnel will measure, weigh and take DNA samples
for future reference at no cost.  Micro-chips are available for $15.00 each and can be inserted by
appointed personnel.  If an actual DNA certificate is wanted/needed  then a $40.00 fee is required to
have it processed.  All micro-chips inserted are registered to ACR and may be transferred by the
animals owner into their name at additional cost through the individual microchip's service.  IT IS
THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ANIMALS OWNER/SHOWER TO SEE THAT ALL OF THE
ABOVE IS ACCOMPLISHED PRIOR TO SHOWING THE ANIMAL.

ALL dogs which receive the GRAND (GR-CH), TOP DOG (TD) or PREMIERE (PM)  title through
ACR MUST have a  paid DNA documented on file with ACR.

ACR does not now nor will it ever in the future accept animals for hardship, foundation or original
registration.   APR is the registry for unverified parentage, mixed breed or those with less than a 3 generation
pedigree.

ACR reserves the right to close it's registry to any and all registries at any time in the future.

ACR's pedigrees are based on information submitted by an individual wishing to get their animal
inclusion into our database and future pedigrees will be based on information that we have received
from such.  ACR reserves the right, however, to correct  any and all information that is found to be
incorrect and to revoke any and all certificates that can not be corrected or verified.

ACR does not have a preference of which registries papers are acceptable for dual registration as
long as an OFFICIAL VERIFIABLE 3 generation pedigree is included with dual registration request.
ACR does however reserve the right to refuse any and all that are not in acceptance to our policies.
ACR reserves the right to suspend, revoke privileges, litter papers and dog registration certificates
at our discretion.
BYA - Biewer Yorkie Association and the HPA - Harlequin Pinscher Association

will not accept CKC (*Continental Kennel Club - Walker, LA. for inclusion into their database.

ACR will NEVER pull or refuse registration of an animal based on it's breeders privileges/status with
ACR.  We believe in penalizing the individual responsible and not the animal or someone who
bought/received an animal in good faith.

ACR does not have a time limit in which a dog may be registered from ACR litter papers but penalties
are accessed for those not done in a timely manner.

ACR requires supplemental transfers or documentation from each individual that the animal's
possession has passed through but only the one registering the animal in their name is required
to pay a single registration fee.

American Canine Registry is open to all associations, groups and clubs who wish to have dog shows.
ACR will assist these in any way that ACR can to make sure that their shows are a success.

American Canine Registry believes in the right to own, breed and show animals.

American Canine Registry hopes to be one of the tools that you use in order to do it to better the breed.
