ACR BREEDER CODE
OF ETHICS

As the owner,
breeder and/or
dealer of an ACR
registered dog, I
pledge:
-
To obey and
adhere to
all rules
and
regulations
established
for owners,
breeders &
dealers
of animals
registered
or subject
to
registration
with
American
Canine
Registry.
-
- To
be a
responsible
and
conscientious
animal
owner
and
accept
responsibility
for my
animals
actions.
-
- To
be a
responsible
animal
owner
and
give my
devoted
attention
to it's
housing,
feeding
and
care.
-
- To
provide
medical
care
whenever
needed
for any
animal
in my
care,
to
provide
adequate
food,
water
and
-
shelter
for any
animal
in my
care,
to
provide
secure
areas
and
socialization
for any
animal
in my
care.
-
- To
provide
proper
immunizations,
licensing
and
identification
of
animals
in my
care.
-
- To
refrain
from
participating
in any
illegal
activity
with
animals
in my
care.
-
- To
conduct
myself
in a
professional
and
sportsmanship
manner
while
dealing
with
other
animals
owners,
while
at
- all
dog
shows,
functions,
meetings
and
conventions
associated
with
animals.
-
- To
promote
the
animal
industry
in a
fashion
that
allows
it to
be a
growing
and
strong
industry
for
decades
to
come.
-
- To
refrain
from
harassing,
bad-mouthing
and
publicly
degrading
another
animal
owner.
To
avoid
unfair
-
competitive
practices,
slander,
defamation
of
character
of
fellow
animal
owners.
To
avoid
any and
all
actions
-
which
would
result
in
dishonor
or
distrust
of my
competitors,
the
animal
industry
or
American
Canine
Registry.
-
- To
educate
myself
and
make
myself
available
to
others
as to
the
"Breed
Standard"
and
"Proper
Breeding"
methods.
-
- To
assist
others
courteously
whenever
possible
to
achieve
the
goal of
"Betterment
of the
Breed".
-
- To
ALWAYS
give
each
puppy
application
or
registration
papers
to the
new
owner
or
dealer.
No
puppies
that
litter
-
puppies
have
been
applied
for
will be
sold as
Non-registered
or
without
papers
without
PROPER
contracts
-
signed
so that
both
parties
are
clear
that no
papers
will be
available
now or
in the
future
on said
animal.
-
- To
ALWAYS
return
ALL
litter
papers
and/or
registration
papers
to ACR,
in a
timely
manner,
that
have
become
null
- and
void
due to
ANY
reason.
-
- To
always
promote
the
American
Canine
Registry
in a
favorable
light.
-
- To
house
my
animals
in
"humane"
conditions
at all
times.
-
- To
be able
to
identify
all
animals
in my
care
with
tattoo
or
micro
chip.
-
- To
keep
accurate
records
of all
my
animals
including
but not
limited
to
mating,
whelping,
registration,
health,
show,
-
death,
sale
and/or
final
disposition
of my
ownership.
-
- To
avoid
misrepresentation
and to
deal
fairly
and
honestly
with
everyone
concerning
my
animals.
-
- To
never
use any
animals
for
breeding
until
it is
physically
and
mentally
prepared
to do
so. To
never
intentionally
- use
an
animal
that I
am
aware
will
produce
defective
offspring.

- To
refrain
from
all
discussions
or
involvement
that
are
meant
to
bring
harm to
another
breeder,
dealer
or
animal
owners
-
reputation,
kennel
name,
animals
or
premises.

Any
violations of the
"Code of Ethics" is
punishable by
temporary
suspension or
permanent expulsion
of registration
privileges
and registration
privileges being
denied at American
Canine Registry's
discretion. Each
case will be
handled
individually and
final decisions are
based on
information and
facts gathered on a
case by case
basis. Final
decisions are
at
the sole
discretions of
American Canine
Registry.
We
reserve the right
to refuse
registration
privileges to any
individual, kennel,
or company.
